Essa redução de temperatura é alcançada através de um dessuperaquecedor a vapor quando uma parte do calor sensível é transferida para uma parte da água inserida na seção atual da planta, fazendo com que a água evapore e se transforme em vapor, que por sua vez tende a ser incorporado ao o processo principal. É justamente por meio das variações dos processos de dispersão da água que os dessuperaquecedores de vapor são classificados em diversos tipos, o que possibilita que os clientes optem pelo equipamento que mais se adeque à sua necessidade.
